SYRACUSE – Jacqueline Rose “Jackie” Mann, 86, Elkhart, passed away at 2:05 a.m. July 7, 2016, at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen.
She was born June 9, 1930, in Pierceton, to Louie John and Kathryn Lucille Gawthrop Nebro. On May 26, 1966, in Goshen, she married Ray Alan Mann, who preceded her in death in 1980.
She graduated in 1948 from Syracuse High School. She was a lifetime Kosciusko and Elkhart counties area resident except a few years in Kentucky and Washington, D.C. She was a retired bookkeeper and formerly volunteered for a Domestic Violence Group for the YMCA, Elkhart. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Elkhart, and Moose Lodge, Goshen. She formerly attended the First United Methodist Church, Elkhart, where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir for many years. She was a former member of the Optimist Club, Elkhart, and was a mentor for children in several of the Elkhart County Schools.
Surviving are two daughters, Michele (and spouse Larry) Lockhart, Syracuse, and Yvonne (and spouse Denny) Paff, Goshen; a son, Robert (and spouse Laura) Line, Cromwell; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a half sister, Sherry (and spouse Denny) Riedel, Elkhart; and a half brother, Ted (and spouse Louise) Burson, Manistee, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Nebro; and a stepbrother, Robert Burson.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Sam Needham, of the church, officiating. Burial will be in McClintic Cemetery.
Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
