MILFORD - Jacob "Gene" Keller, 65, of Milford, died at 2:30 p.m. March 8, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Fort Wayne, to Marion Eugene and Ida Pearl Marquis Keller. On April 7, 2000, he married Peggy Miller, who survives.

Moving recently to Milford from Tennessee, he retired from Pot Latch, Fort Wayne, and recently transported fifth-wheel travel trailers. He loved spending time outdoors hunting. He enjoyed camping in Cherokee, N.C., fishing for trout. He liked watching NASCAR and supporting his favorite drivers. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Also surviving are his children: Rebecca Keller, Milford; John (and spouse Samantha) Keller, North Webster; Michael (and spouse Sonya) Keller, Columbia City; Kevin (and spouse Krista) Keller, Michigan; Chantel Hunter and Kristi (and spouse James) Lostis, all of Warsaw; Erin Miller, Tennessee; Darla Stomhd; and David Keller, North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Keller, Florida; a stepsister, Celia Ray, Fort Wayne; and a stepbrother, Ron Go-On, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Phillip Go-On.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford, with the Rev. Harlan Steffen officiating.

Calling is from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
