MARION – Jack F. Stackhouse, 90, North Manchester, and formerly of Marion, died at 8 a.m. Jan. 10, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Marion, to Frank and Emma Havens Stackhouse. On Dec. 20, 1941, he married Bonita June Hewitt, who died Dec. 12. 2008.
He owned and operated Jack’s Barbershop where he retired after 48 years. He then worked part time at Paul’s Hair Styling. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, serving our great country overseas. He formerly attended Marion Church of Christ. He was active in the North Webster Senior Center and a longtime member of the American Legion and VFW.
Surviving are a son, Larry Stackhouse, North Manchester; three grandchildren: Natalie (and spouse Bill) Galleo, Summitville; Beth (and spouse Andy) Thomas, Plymouth; Renee (and spouse Rick) Embry, Greenwood; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sheryl Diane Kelley; two sisters, Thelma Whinery and Erma Vickery; and one grandson, Jeff Stackhouse.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
