SOUTH BEND - Ivy Tech Community College-Warsaw, 3755 Lake City Highway, will host an information session for their College for Working Adults Medical Assisting Program July 16 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 123.[[In-content Ad]]Ivy Tech-Warsaw will offer an accelerated program in Medical Assisting starting in the fall 2008 semester, which begins Aug. 25. The CWA format features sequential eight-week classes taught at scheduled dates and times for the duration of the program, making college a predictable part of students' busy lives. Students will start and complete the program with the same group of peers, creating an environment of team work and support. Participants can complete the program and earn degrees in two years. Eligible students may apply financial aid to program costs.

According to Debra Paul, who coordinates the Medical Assisting Program at the Warsaw campus, the event is for potential students who are interested in the CWA format as well as students who may already be registered in the Medical Assisting Program.

"The CWA format is fairly new to Ivy Tech and we realize that students may have questions that can be answered at the information session which can, in turn, help other students better understand the delivery format," she said.

Topic areas that will be covered at the information session will include program overviews and curriculum review; program readiness; financial aid; and the commitment requirements to the program.

For more information or to register for the session, call Debra Paul at 574-267-5428, Ext. 6117, or e-mail [email protected]
