APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. – Ivan R. Rheinheimer, 86, formerly of Goshen, died Oct. 14, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 25, 1927, in York Township, Elkhart County, to Clayton and Maude M. Miller Rheinheimer. On May 7, 1948, in Goshen, he married Audra F. Tope, who died March 4, 1985. On April 11, 1987, in Arizona, he married Evelyn Harrast Danek, who survives.
A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a signal maintainer in the Goshen-Toledo Division for Conrail Railroad for 31 years. He was a life member of the VFW Post 985 and American Legion Post 484, and also a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman Local 10 for 35 years. He was very active in the community with the Boy Scouts of America for 29 years.  He received the Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow and in 1970 received The Silver Beaver Award, the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America to a volunteer.
Also surviving are a daughter, Brenda (and spouse Dan) Bowers, Middlebury; a son, I. Brent (and spouse Jane) Rheinheimer, Goshen; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepchildren: Barbara (and spouse Reed) Coy, Bonnie (and spouse Jim) Stark and Charles Frances Danek III; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther (and spouse Floyd) Hoover, Goshen; and a brother, Ernest Rheinheimer, New Paris. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lois Blosser and Pauline Schrock; and four brothers, Al, John, Maynard and Floyd Rheinheimer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Burial is in Hess Cemetery, Goshen.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at th funeral home.
