Isa Edith Smith, 89, of Warsaw, passed away at 1:41 a.m. Sept. 29, 2011, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

She was born May 10, 1922, in Stark, W.Va., to Jessie and Emma Clark Pettit. On Oct. 24, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, she married Robert Smith, who preceded her in death.

She was a resident of Morehead, Ky., most of her childhood, then moved to Warsaw. She was a member of United Methodist Church, the UMC Women’s Club and a quilting and home economics club of Kosciusko. She was  an ambassador at Gardens of Lake City, Warsaw. She retired from Kimble Glass, Warsaw, and enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly (and spouse Phillip) Surface, Mentone, and Barbara (and spouse Donald) Puckett, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Terry (and spouse Patricia) Puckett, Claypool; Gary (and spouse Tricia) Puckett, Washington; Stephanie Puckett and Sharon (and spouse Chris) Kindig, all of Warsaw; Laurie (and spouse Harold) Carlin, Mentone; and Teresa (and spouse Peter) Jones, Clinton, N.Y.; 16 great-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Robert Surface and Donald Puckett Jr.; a great-great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
 
Services will be at noon Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, officiated by the Rev. Amber Karkoksy-Litten of Mentone United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Violet Cemetery, Goshen.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
