Richard and Libbie Irwin, Etna Green, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 2009. Richard and the former Libbie Faulkner were married Oct. 3, 1969, at Bourbon Church of Christ by the Rev. John Reid.

He is retired and she is a homemaker. They are members of Bourbon United Pentecostal, where he has been an usher and she is a former Sunday school teacher.

They have four children: Laurie and Christopher Irwin, both of Etna Green; the late Troy Irwin; and Ashlee (and spouse Greg) Rohrer, Bourbon; and two grandchilden.

The family had a meal out.
