She was born Feb. 28, 1916, in Plymouth, to Roy and Ruby York Shearer. She married Earl Anderson, and then married Paul Thompson, who preceded her in death in 1995.
She worked for Farmers State Bank for 24 years, retiring in 1988. She was a 1934 graduate of West Township High School, Plymouth. She was a member of the Mentone United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had been Worthy Matron.
Surviving are four sons: Dennis (and spouse Mary) Anderson, Warsaw; Roy “Fred” (and spouse Darlene) Anderson, Mentone; Phil (and spouse Diana) Anderson and Jim Anderson, all of Argos; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Anderson; two brothers, Dwayne and Merald Shearer; and two sisters, Margaret Lawrence and Norma Ayers.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mentone Cemetery, with the Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
There will be no calling.
King Memorial Home, Mentone, is in charge of arrangements.
