Irene May Ramsey, 85, of Warsaw, passed away at 9:46 a.m.  March 4, 2013, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 10, 1927,  in Cleveland, Ohio, to Hamford S. and E. Fairy Crelling Smith. On Aug. 20, 1949, in Cleveland, she married Allan M. Ramsey, who died Nov. 18, 2005.
She moved from Warsaw to Kissimmee, Fla., then moved back to the Warsaw area in 2000. She worked for Ramsey News Co., Warsaw, and Show and Sell Publications, West Palm Beach, Fla. She was a member of North Salem Church of God, Plymouth, and Tiger Fellowship Church, Warsaw. She was lovingly referred to as “The Sunshine Lady” around Retired Tigers. She was a member of Retired Tigers Bible Study Group, “Keepin On” Home Extension Club and was a volunteer at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Miller’s Merry Manor and Real Services, Warsaw.
Surviving are five children: Lawrence (and spouse Susy) Ramsey, Warsaw; Jeanette Martin, Oregon; Rebecca Grubbs (and companion Dale McMullin), Winona Lake; Burton A. Ramsey, Pierceton; and Donald E. (and spouse Vickie) Ramsey, Winona Lake; a sister, Doris (and spouse Fred) Schuld, Macedonia, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frederick Ramsey.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Gene Gephart officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Calling is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
