Irene Margaret King, 93, of Warsaw, died at 3:40 p.m. June 29, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born May 23, 1920, in Morris, Minn., to Ray H. and Agnes G. Landon, who preceded her in death. On June 19, 1943, she married Joseph A. King, who preceded her in death in June 1994.
She retired after 40 years with the U.S. Post Office in Sodus, Mich., where she was a member of the Sodus School Alumni Association. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 18 years, moving to the area in 1995. She was a member of the Rural Carriers Association, the Kosciusko County Historical Society and Genealogy Society, and the Warsaw Animal Welfare League.
She will be lovingly remembered by a son, A. Ray (and spouse Darlene) King, Fort Wayne; a foster daughter, Barbara (and spouse Charles) Blagburn, Caruthersville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Michael King, Fort Wayne, Ryan (and spouse Becky) King, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Steven (and spouse Nicole) Blagburn, Memphis, Tenn.; a great-granddaughter, Jazzlyn King, Fort Wayne; three great-grandsons, Troy and Colton King and Dalton Blagburn; her special family, Scott and Debbie McClintock and their sons, Jason and Trent McClintock, all of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Robert King.
A public graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shanghai Cemetery, Eau Claire, Mich., with the Rev. Russell Logston officiating.
Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
