Ira "Carl" Seitner, 82, of Warsaw, died at 8:07 p.m. May 17, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Roann, to Walter J. and Ruby Reed Seitner. His second wife, Norma Jean Seitner, died July 23, 1994. On Jan. 7, 2004, in Warsaw, he married Mary Johnson, who survives.

Living most of his life in Warsaw, he worked at Arnold Corp. for 17 years and was a sand lab tech at Dalton Foundries for 21 years, retiring Nov. 8, 1991. He was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Also surviving are a son, Mike (and spouse Maria) Seitner, Warsaw, a daughter, Linda (and spouse Ronnie) Smith, Mentone; three sisters, Iris Nuell, Martha (and spouse Pete) Wuchter and Sandra Kimes, all of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren, Charlie, Matt, Christina, Melissa, Todd, Walter, Ronda, Mark, John, Thomas and Trevis; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter J. Seitner, who died March 18, 1959; his mother, Ruby A. Seitner, who died Jan. 22, 1994; a son, David Seitner, April 14, 1990.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Wayne Whitaker of the church. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery with military graveside honors by members of Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, was in charge of arrangements.
