Ione R. Jonas, 91, of 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, died at 8:40 a.m. Nov. 14, 2008, in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Goshen, to William and Iona Roscoe Diddel. On April 12, 1959, she married Louis C. Jonas, who preceded her in death.

A lifetime Warsaw resident, she was the owner of Diddel Insurance Agency, and was a clerk in the records department of the Warsaw Police Department, retiring in 1989 after 15 years. She was a member of Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary and Delta Theta Thu sorority. She was an avid bridge player, playing in numerous clubs in the area.

Surviving are Dick and Phyllis Carman, Warsaw, and many of her friends through the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and her husband.

Services will be Monday at noon at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral chapel.
