Inspiring Video

Last Thursday night I had the pleasure of attending the local video presentation on the big screen at Lakeview Middle School, the Aug. 28, 2010 "Restoring Honor Rally" held on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. It was hosted by one of the the greatest American Patriots of our time, Mr. Glenn Beck.

It was a rally to honor our military, those heroes who went to battle to preserve and protect this great country so that we may remain free today. It was a rally to give God the glory for inspiring the great men and women who were instrumental in bringing together this wonderful country.

It was not a political rally. It was a rally to fire up the great American Spirit. It didn't matter what race, creed, denomination or political persuasion, they were there. Over 500,000 strong by conservative estimates, including a bus load of almost 60 people from the Warsaw area.

Oh, how I wish I would have gone. What we saw and felt last night was moving beyond description, to have been able to join my fellow Hoosiers in Washington would have stirred my heart so much more.

Thank you, Mr. Wesley (Wes) Smith, for bringing this video presentation to our area. Wes was so moved by the Washington event that he made all the arrangements, and paid for the entire project, including a full-page advertisement in the Times-Union, and the rental of the auditorium. Wes loves this country and he loves our Lord. A compassionate man who almost lost his life while aiding those in Haiti after the disastrous earthquake earlier this year. He is another great American patriot and I am blessed to call him my friend.

God Bless you, and God Bless America!
