BEFORE THE INDIANA UTILITY REGULATORY COMMISSION CAUSE NO. 43669 VERIFIED JOINT PETITION OF INDIANA GAS COMPANY, INC., SOUTHERN INDIANA GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR UTILITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF INDIANAPOLIS, AND SUCCESSOR TRUSTEE OF A PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST, D/B/A CITIZENS GAS AND NORTHERN INDIANA PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY, PURSUANT TO IND. CODE 8-1-2.5 et. seq., FOR APPROVAL OF ALTERNATIVE REGULATORY PLANS UNDER WHICH EACH PETITIONER WOULD CONTINUE THEIR RESPECTIVE CUSTOMER BILL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS THROUGH MAY 31, 2013. LEGAL NOTICE PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that on April 20, 2009, Indiana Gas Company, Inc. d/b/a Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana, Inc., Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Company, d/b/a Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana, Inc. (collectively, "Vectren Energy"), the Board of Directors for Utilities of the Department of Public Utilities of the City of Indianapolis, as Successor trustee of a Public Charitable Trust, d/b/a Citizens Gas ("Citizens") and Northern Indiana Public Service Company ("NIPSCO") (collectively "Petitioners") filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission ("Commission") their Verified Joint Petition requesting approval of an alternative regulatory plan ("ARP") for each of the Petitioners, pursuant to IC 8-1-2.5. If the Commission approves Petitioners' request, the proposed ARP would allow Petitioners to continue their respective low-income customer bill assistance programs through May 13, 2013. The Commission approved the existing customer bill assistance programs of Vectren Energy and Citizens (referred to as the Universal Service Program) on August 18, 2004 in Cause No. 42590. The Commission approved the existing NIPSCO customer bill assistance program (referred to as the Winter Warmth Program) on December 15, 2004 in Cause No. 42722. The Commission approved an extension of Petitioners' respective programs through May 31, 2009 on November 7, 2007 in Consolidated Cause Nos. 43077/43078.
