Indiana Attorney General's Office Offers Scam Protection Presentation

WINONA LAKE – The Indiana Attorney General’s Office will offer a presentation titled “Don’t Be A Victim: Protect Yourself from Scams and Identity Theft” at Grace Village  Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Linda Gurgel, outreach services specialist, will be in the Grace Village Retirement Chapel, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, to provide information to residents and community members on the newest scams and appropriate fraud safeguards.
Gurgel’s presentation will include an overview of the different techniques and practices used by fraudsters and scam artists via phone, mail or Internet. She will discuss how to protect personal information, how to check on credit and make reports of fraud, and how to freeze credit when necessary.
