North Webster Community Center advanced comedy improv students are putting on a holiday show that will not only have audiences laughing, but also benefits the North Webster Food Pantry.
For just one non-perishable food item, anyone can attend “A Very Merry North Webster Comedy Show Food Drive” at 7 p.m. Dec. 13. The show will be on the Teen Center Stage at the NWCC.
“We’re going to do, basically, a game-based show for 45 minutes. The games will have holiday themes, and we may try audience participation,” said Jessica Hardy, improv teacher.
After the show, the improv group will play a game of freeze tag for the audience’s further enjoyment.
“It’s more just of a warm up for them to get ready for their final show (in January),” Hardy said.
And don’t forget to wear an ugly holiday sweater for a contest. The audience member with the ugliest holiday sweater will get a special prize, as determined by the comedy improv performers.
During the show, Hardy also will announce another opportunity for interested people to enroll in her next beginning level comedy improv class. The class is tentatively scheduled to begin in January.
Level 3 performers scheduled to take the stage for the comedy show food drive will be Todd Lucas, Seth Anderson, Owen Stech, Maddi Hart, Derick Gamble, Taylor White, Cindy Darr Nei and Tyrus Denton.
“We really appreciate the community center and them letting us do this,” Hardy said. “In light of Giving Tuesday, which is suppose to be an offset of Black Friday, the idea is for people to give back, we want to use (this show) to give back to the North Webster Community Center and to do some good.”[[In-content Ad]]
