PUBLIC NOTICE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT NPDES CAFO GENERAL PERMIT APPLICATION - KOSCIUSKO COUNTY Farm 10 #: 3392 Applicant: Matthew Kneller, Operator Farm Name: Precision Pullets, LLC Farm Location: 1/2 mile north of County Road 200 West & State Road 14 intersection (west side) Farm City: Silver Lake, Indiana 46982 Farm Location: Section 5, Township 31N, Range 7E The above-named applicant submitted a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) general permit application to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). The NPDES CAFO general permit application, a Notice of Intent (NOI), is to construct: One (1) self-contained concrete floored 259,200 caged pullet capacity confinement building with a below cage solid manure belt conveyor transfer system to One (1) proposed/adjacent self-contained/concrete floored supplemental long-term solid manure storage building. This site includes One (1) existing and IDEM approved 200,000 caged pullet capacity self-contained/concrete floored poultry confinement building which will be modified with a below cage solid manure belt conveyor transfer system to the proposed/adjacent supplemental long-term solid manure storage building previously described. This (2) two-unit caged pullet poultry confinement operation will have a total capacity of 459,200 pullets. The NPDES CAFO general permit NOI was submitted to comply with IC 13-18-10, 327 lAC 16, and 327 lAC 15-15. In accordance with 327 lAC 15-15-5 and 327 lAC 15-15-8, this notice requests written comments be submitted to IDEM on the eligibility of the owner or operator submitting the NOI for a general permit.
