Idabel Margaret Goodrich, 89, Winona Lake, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Jan. 24, 2014, at Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake.
She was born May 13, 1924, in Mishawaka, to Ernest and Lillian Hunt Lovett. On Sept. 5, 1942, in Gulfport, Miss., she married Fay Leroy Goodrich, who died in January 1993.
In 1942, she graduated from Mishawaka High School where she enjoyed bookkeeping and commercial classes. She did bookkeeping for the family business, Lovett Tool and Die. Following that, she worked at Burnsteins in Elkhart as an office manager. She retired after 25 years. She enjoyed her job and her fellow workers.
She and Fay spent their working days between Mishawaka and summer weekends at Tippecanoe Lake.  All of the generations have wonderful memories of summers at the lake. In their retirement years and after the passing of Fay, time was divided between the lake and Florida. She loved people, bingo, dancing and being active. She took great pride in the members of her family and enjoyed her years in being part of their lives.
Grace Village became a final address where she met new friends and was involved in many activities. The family thanks the staff in the healthcare floor for their skills, loving care and energy to find enjoyment every day. A special thank you to Buddy Miller who was her companion and friend until her passing. He made her last years special. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (and spouse Will) Shroyer, Leesburg and Bonita Spring, Fla.; three grandchildren: Barton (and spouse Bonnie) Shroyer, Zionsville; Stephanie Shroyer (and spouse Todd) Sriver, Bristow, Va.; and Michael (and companion Becky Bremer) Shroyer, Leesburg; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kayla and Justin Sriver and Abby and Katie Shroyer; a sister, Vivian (and spouse Robert) Scott, Loma Linda, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Emy Lovett, Osceola; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Gerald Goodrich; and several nieces and nephews.
