John and Carol Hurd, Milford, marked their 50th wedding anniversary March 23, 2008. John Hurd and Carol Beer were married March 23, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Milford with the Rev. L.G. Clayton officiating.

He retired after 38 years with NIPSCO, and she worked for 21 years for Lakeland Community Services Childcare Center before her retirement.

The couple have four children: Blane (and spouse Kathy) Beer, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Greta Beer, Milford; Gina (and spouse Kevin) Smith, Angola; and Bevan (and spouse Donna) Beer, Portland, Ore. They have six grandchildren.

The couple celebrated the annivesrary with a private gathering.[[In-content Ad]]
