Howard William Churchill, 76, of Fort Wayne, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 12:16 a.m. Feb. 11, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Crawfordsville, to Paul Howard and Barbara Stella Due Churchill.

He was Parkview Hospital director of housekeeping, then director of maintenance at Lincoln Life, retiring in 1979. He moved to Fort Wayne from Warsaw 37 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran, honorably discharged on Oct. 4, 1959. He graduated in 1949 from Greencastle High School.

Surviving are a son, Bruce Anthony Churchill, Greencastle; four daughters, Marcia Rena Simmons, Cesselly Churchill (and spouse Lewis) Jones and Jensie Estelle Churchill (and Carl Dean), all of Fort Wayne, and Mellany Churchill (and spouse Gary) West, Houston, Texas; five grandchildren: Lawrence Simmons, Angela and Malcolm Churchill and Darien and Lauren West; and former wife, Priscilla Churchill, North Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, James Hampton Bouldin; and two brothers, John and Virgil Churchill.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with his nephew, Pastor James Churchill, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
