There have been recent news reports concerning a decrease in the incidence of breast cancer with relation to a decrease in hormone usage. While the statistics are exciting, the problem with the reports is the general use of the word "hormone." There is a huge difference between synthetic hormones and bio-identical hormones. Bio-identical hormones have the exact same structure as the hormones that naturally occur in our bodies, whereas synthetic hormones are a variation on these structures.

There has been a significant decease in the use of synthetic hormones. What the news reports did not mention was there has been an increase in the use of bio-identical hormones.

The key to the success of these hormones is balance. When your hormones are out of balance, you do not feel well. Saliva tests are available to identify the imbalance and bio-identical hormones are available to help you regain this balance.

As in all areas of our health in today's changing times, it is important that we are pro-active in our health care and take the time to educate ourselves. There are several books that we recommend that have many scientific references to back them up. We have some available to loan out. Please call us.
