Ronald and the former Cynthia Nichols were married June 28, 1964 at the E.U.B. Church, Claypool, by Wayne Johnson, cousin of the bride.
Ron retired in 2005 from Dalton Foundry after 44 years of service.
Cynthia retired in 2007 from Lake City Bank after 26 years of service. In 2007, they moved to southern California to be near their son and his family.
They are the parents of two sons, Kenton (and spouse Mimi) Hoppas, Pacific Grove, Calif., and the late Steve Hoppas, who died May 25, 1996.
They also have a granddaughter, Scout L. Hoppas, daughter of Kenton and Mimi.
The couple celebrated with a dinner at Vincent’s, a French restaurant in San Marcos, and with a few special friends at a garden party given by Carol McKeighen.
In September, they will spend several days on Coronado Island, San Diego.[[In-content Ad]]
