The 20th anniversary celebration is supported by INGUARD, formerly known as Beauchamp McSpadden.
In addition to the 1,500-seat Ford Theater, the celebration also incorporates Eugenia’s Restaurant, Clark Gallery, Carpenter Plaza and other meeting and banquet spaces that were part of the Honeywell Center’s 75,000-square-foot addition that opened in 1994.
“When Mark Honeywell established the Honeywell Foundation in 1941, he did so because of his love of Wabash and his vision of a single place where the community could come together to enjoy cultural events, as well as enjoying one another’s company,” said Tod Minnich, executive director of The Honeywell Foundation. “The construction of the Ford Theater, Eugenia’s Restaurant and the Clark Gallery, which opened 20 years ago, increased opportunities for cultural enrichment and exposure as evidenced by the high caliber of entertainers who have made their way to the Ford Theater stage over the past two decades. As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of these integral spaces, I am confident that we are continuing to further Mr. Honeywell’s original vision.”
The 20th anniversary festivities include two tours that are open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. April 28 and May 7. Guests will be able to go “behind the scenes” and tour areas such as backstage of the Ford Theater. There is no charge for the tours. Reservations are encouraged and you can do so by calling 260-563-1102.
In addition, April is filled with a full schedule of nationally known performers. Check the Honeywell Center website, www.honeywellcenter.org, for full details and information about how to buy tickets. Guests at every April show will receive a special giveaway.
The Honeywell Center is north central Indiana's premier arts and entertainment facility with more than 3,000 events and 150,000 visitors annually. Concerts, conferences, charity galas, art exhibits and educational outreach programs are among the diverse events at the Honeywell Center. All programs and activities are supported by gifts from individuals, businesses, the Indiana Arts Commission (a state agency) and the National Endowment for the Arts (a federal agency). The Center is at 275 W. Market St., Wabash.
