Dear Mallory, you poor, confused young lady. Your so-called open-mindedness only goes far enough to encompass your own views.

First, I'd just like to say that if I have to choose between a "Day of Silence" and a "Day of Truth," I would choose the "Day of Truth" every time. It is really a no brainer, wouldn't you say?

Second, these students you speak of bearing Bible verses on their t-shirts are not just using their religion, rather they are upholding their beliefs in their God and His word, the Bible.

Those of us who are believers find homosexuality extremely disturbing. It is against the laws of God and nature. Homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord, says the Bible. It also states that no one practicing this ungodly and unnatural perverse lifestyle will enter into the gates of Heaven.

You speak of homosexuality (the acceptance of it) as progress, but what it really is, is regression back to the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. God destroyed them then, and he will do so again. And another thing, our country was founded on Godly principles, not on the rights of a perverse generation.

You can not expect those of us who are true believers to turn our backs on our beliefs, not even for a day. The Bible says that if we deny our Lord, then he will deny us also.

As for getting off our so-called soap box, let the homos get off theirs and quit parading their sin for all to see. Either repent or go back in the closet where you belong.

My grandchildren will be wearing t-shirts which they designed in protest of homosexuality and the observance thereof. I am proud of them and encourage them to stand for what is right and true. And I challenge anyone to try to take away their rights of freedom of speech, freedom of expression and their freedom to peacefully protest.

And we, as Christians do have the right to judge between right and wrong, according the the word of God.

And one more thing; no one is born homosexual, it is a personal choice the same as engaging in or not engaging in any other sin.

Jesus not only came to earth as a baby born of a woman to die for our sins. He also came and walked as one of us to show us the way, to show us that we can live righteously.
