He was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Risner, Ky., to Alvin and Melvinia Pitts Ousley. On May 11, 1943, he married Lurannie Ousley, who died Feb. 21, 2002.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he was a farmer and an avid vegetable and flower gardener. He retired from Controls Inc., North Manchester.
Surviving are three sons: Homer Jr. (and spouse Marcia) Ousley, North Manchester; Jerry Ousley, Larwill; and Roy (and spouse Becky) Ousley, Pierceton; two grandsons, Kevin (and spouse Pam) and Rodney (and spouse Shelley), all of Columbia City; five great-grandchildren: Brey, Blake, Clay, Kylee and Emma, all of Columbia City; two sisters, Nan Robinson and Bernice Coon; and three brothers, Carson, Charles Ray and Wade Ousley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Frank Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
