ROCHESTER - Homer Dean Geller, 76, of 700 E. CR 1300N, Rochester, died at 9:04 p.m. March 3, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was a patient for a month. He was in failing health for four years.
He was born May 30, 1930, in Burr Oak, to William T. and Nellie Heath Geller. In 1957, he married Barbara Jernigan Dill, who died in 1973. In 1975, he married Bertha Pontius Trosper, who survives.
Moving to Rochester from Kewanna in 1952, he was a 1948 Kewanna High School graduate. He was a mechanic at the Ford garage and for Garver Motors, Rochester, retiring in 1993. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a former member of the LeRoy Shelton American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Lodge, Rochester. He enjoyed gardening and bowling.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jay (Robbin) Elliott, Rochester; Teresa Hicks, Warsaw; and Mrs. Mike (Roberta) Williams, Akron; two sons, Charles Dill, Rochester, and Michael Trosper, Akron; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 18 nieces; and 16 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pamela Dill Kelly in 1999; a son, Dennis Dill in 2000; and two brothers, David Geller in 1997, and Robert Geller in 1935.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with Pastor Todd Kauffman officiating. Burial will be in Athens Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of LeRoy Shelton American Legion and VFW.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.[[In-content Ad]]
