Hoffman 80th Birthday

Ed Hoffman, Claypool, will celebrate his 80th birthday at a SURPRISE open house Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at his daughter’s residence,  2601 Westwood Road, Winona Lake.

He was born May 16, 1932, in Akron, to Foster and Eathel Hoffman.

He and his wife, the former Martha Wharton, have been married for 58 years.  

They have two daughters, Kathy (and spouse Bill) Hamman, Winona Lake, and Michelle (and spouse Don) Hirschaut, Aptos, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Jay Hamman, Sara Hamman McConnell and Meridith and Nathan Hirschaut.

He was service manager at several automobile dealerships in Warsaw for many years and was a gunsmith at Schutz Brothers, North Manchester. He’s enjoyed farming and woodworking and loves to hunt, fish and tie flies. He is a member of Warsaw Masonic Lodge and Mizpah Shrine Club and has held many positions, including past master over the years.
