BURLINGTON - Hilda I. Redding-Harvey, 90, of Flora, died at 1:02 a.m. July 23, 2009, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.

She was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Carroll County, to Basil "Ray" and Ethel Deliah Bock Milburn. On May 18, 1939, she married Elmo Marion Redding, who died May 8, 1973. On Dec. 11, 1982, she married Jesse Harvey, who died Dec. 18, 1993.

She was a 1936 graduate of Logansport High School. She was a homemaker, farm wife and a highly regarded seamstress. Her memberships include Burlington United Methodist Church, Easter Star Lodge of Burlington and Ervin Township Home Economics Club. She loved to garden, raising chicken for the delicious chicken and noodles she was well known for and her angel food cakes were extraordinarily delicious. She enjoyed sharing all of these things with her family, friends, church and bazaars. Every Wednesday for many years she could be found volunteering her time and talents making quilts at the Brethren Home in Flora.

Surviving are three sons: Benny J. (and spouse Doneta) Redding, Flora; Mark E. (and spouse Vickie) Redding, Burlington; and William P. (and spouse Cheri) Redding, Cutler; a daughter, Rebecca Ann (and spouse David) Crosby, Warsaw; nine grandchildren: Timothy (and spouse Diana) Redding; Lynn M. (and spouse Toby) Yates; Darren M., Brianne and Alyssa Redding; Jon D. (and spouse Kim) Crosby; Lindsay A. (and spouse Paul) Grace; Rocquel (and spouse Brian) Cigal; and Rick Flory; four great-grandchildren, Kevin and Craig Redding and Kayla and Megan Yates; two stepsons, Don L. (an spouse Margaret) Harvey, Burlington, and Danny M. (and spouse Phyllis) Harvey, Greentown; a stepdaughter, Patsy McIntire, Indiana; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; five sisters: Joan Martin, Delphi; Martha Sharp, Flora; Betty Farrer, Royal Center; Bonnie McGill, Lafayette; Roberta (and spouse Lester) Elliott, Lucerne; a brother, Robert H. Milburn, Logansport; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marion Ray Redding; and a sister, Marjorie Crume.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burlington United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bonnie Shoaf officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, Burlington, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Calling is also one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
