BREMEN - With a 58-51 win over host Bremen Saturday, Wawasee's varsity boys basketball team is now 3-2 overall on the season.
Wawasee trailed 16-10 after one quarter of play before outscoring the Lions 15-7 in the second stanza. The Warriors kept the momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Bremen 18-11 in the frame and taking a 43-34 lead into the fourth quarter.
Senior center Andrew Packer scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Warriors. Brent Doty scored 13 points off the bench for Wawasee, while starters Brian Adkins and Scott Beasley scored eight points each.
Nick Bragg and Greg Neely paced the Lions (1-3) with nine points each, while Tony Alvarado and Kevin Faulstich added eight points each.
Wawasee will host Northern Lakes Conference rival Warsaw Friday.

Trailing 24-9 after one quarter of play Saturday, Tippecanoe Valley's varsity boys basketball team fell 65-53 to host John Glenn. The loss, Valley's second consecutive, drops the Vikings to 3-2 on the season. Sophomore Trey Eaton led Valley with 27 points, while senior Cody New, who had been averaging 27 points per game, tallied 12 in the loss. Ross Stutzman scored eight points off the bench for the Vikings, who will play at Peru Tuesday.
Senior guard Chris Adkins led the Falcons (2-1) with 26 points, while forward Jason Fraschetti added 10.
Said Valley coach Bill Patrick: "We didn't show up to play. The five kids that started didn't show up. We were down 16-4 in the first four minutes of the game. We put Stutzman, (Casey) Wise and (Brandon) Harmon in there and started coming back. We got within seven in the second quarter and were down eight at halftime. Our bench played great for us.
"Adkins may be the best guard we'll see all year. We just weren't mentally ready to play. Trey was the only one that showed up."

Rory Clouse led the Panthers with 20 points, while Ryan Bradley and Willy Will added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Robbie Lightfoot scored nine for NorthWood, while Eric Reynolds tallied eight.
Fairfield (0-4) was led in the scoring column by Ben Bernaert's 20 points. NorthWood led 15-12 after one quarter of play and was tied with the Falcons at halftime. The Panthers outscored Fairfield 36-27 in the final two quarters to pick up the win. NorthWood will be at Elkhart County Rival Jimtown Tuesday.

The win improves the Trojans' overall season record to 2-1. Seniors Jim Read and Joey Potter recorded double-doubles for Triton, with Read scoring 14 points and pulling down 18 rebounds, while Potter scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Steven Boyer and Eric Disher scored nine and eight points, respectively, for Triton in the win. The Trojans will be in action again Tuesday at Culver Military Academy. Washington Township fell to 2-2.
