WATERLOO -ÊWawasee's varsity boys basketball team fell 56-36 at DeKalb Saturday. The loss drops its overall season record to 0-3. Senior R.J. Wilson led the Warriors with 10 points and was the only Wawasee cager in double figures. Andrew Packer and Jeremy High added six points each in the loss. Wawasee will be at Northern Lakes Conference rival Warsaw Dec. 10.

In its second game of the season, LCA lost to Kokomo Christian 66-62 in overtime. Trailing by 13 points in the fourth quarter, LCA charged back with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter.
Aaron Hood finished with 24 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. After he fouled out, Tim Buckholz took over to score the final two baskets for the tie. In overtime, Buckholz, who had scored 22, left the game with an injury.
Matt Boren finished the night with 10 points and 9 rebounds. LCA next game will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Park in Auburn.

KCHE led 13-12 after the first quarter and the game was tied at 23 at halftime. Clint Alsman led the Eagles in the scoring column with 22 points. He also pulled down four rebounds and made two steals.

Wawasee's varsity girls basketball improved its season record to 5-1 Saturday with a 63-45 win at Elkhart Central.
Wawasee sophomore Shanna Zolman led all scores with 33 points. Crystal Fawley and Viki Hunziker added five points each in the win.
Said Wawasee coach Kem Zolman: "Our girls bounced back from a tough loss last Tuesday, playing with both focus and intensity, very impressive for a young team."
The Warriors will be in action again Saturday when they host the Wawasee Holiday Tournament. The Warriors will play Garrett at 10 a.m. Mishawaka Marian and Manchester will square off at 10 a.m. as well, with the consolation at 1 p.m. and the championship set to start at 3 p.m.
