Bob and Cathy Hicks, West Harrison, announce the engagement of their daughter, Roxanna Grace Hicks, Cincinnati, Ohio, to Derek Randall Smith, Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the son of Pam Smith and Tim and Judy Smith, all of Mentone.

The bride-to-be is a dental hygienist in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a 2000 graduate of Franklin County High School, Brookville, and earned an associate's degree in dental hygiene in 2005.

The groom-elect is an account executive at Brooksource, Cincinnati. He is a 2001 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School, Akron, and received a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership and supervision from Purdue University in 2005.
