Hester Abbott, 82, Warsaw, died at 4 a.m. Feb. 5, 2009, at Mason's Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

She was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Bonanza, Ky., to Henry and Rushie Robinson Yates.

On November 22, 1943, she married her first husband, Clarence Wenger who preceded her in death, March 18, 1979. On May 14, 1980, she married her second husband, Oscar Abbott, who died Sept. 17, 1990.

She worked at Jomac for 10 years and for Da-lite Screen Company Inc. for 15 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw. She lived in Warsaw most of her life.

Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl (and spouse Doug) Smith, Cape Coral, Fla.; a son, David "Joe" (and spouse Tracy) Wenger, Warsaw; four grandchildren; Caleb Wenger, Cheyenne Wenter, both of Warsaw; Jason Funnel and Mary (and spouse Bob) Schwandner, all of Cape Coral, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Kain, Kayle and Sabastian; two sisters, Lilly Hurd, Palestine; and Hazel McFarren, Angola.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Homer Yates.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw; with Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher, chaplain of Mason's Health Care and Rehabilitation Center officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
