He was born Nov. 17, 1947, in Alma, Mich., to Edgar and Edith Damer Carpenter. On April 26, 1996, he married Sharon Lampnan, who survives.
He worked in the maintenance department at Spartec Inc. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge, both of Warsaw.
Also surviving are his mother, Edith Damer, Ithaca, Mich.; four sisters: Beverly Denman and Linda Simonovic, both of Alma; Geraldine Williams, Goshen; Judy Boursaw, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; a brother, Danny Flocker, Howard City, Mich.; two stepsons, John and Richard Courson, both of Warsaw; six step-grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father and sister.
