SYRACUSE - Henry N. Platt, 75, of Warsaw (Oswego), died at 10:27 p.m. Nov. 24, 2008, in his residence.

He was born to John A. and Martha E. Hartle Platt. On Sept. 1, 1956, in Ft. Belvoir, Va., he married Vera M. Kindt, who survives.

He graduated from Lincoln High School, Tacoma, Wash., in 1951, and Southeastern Bible College, Birmingham, Ala., in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-56. He moved to Oswego in 1960, and attended Grace Seminary, Winona Lake. He retired from Buhrt Engineering Inc., Warsaw, in 2002, and worked part-time in building maintenance for Front Line Manufacturing, Leesburg. He was a member of the Bread of Life Church, Goshen.

Also surviving are four daughters: Denise (and spouse Roger) Wiggs, Syracuse; Christy Platt, Roundup, Mont.; Grace (and spouse Chad) Tener, Leesburg; and Rachel Plunkett, Warsaw; two sons, Kenneth (and spouse Holle) Platt, Warsaw, and Kevin (and spouse Karen) Platt, Leesburg; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.

A private graveside service will be Wednesday in Leesburg Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at Bread of Life Church, Goshen, with Pastor Tim Neely officiating.

Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
