Henry Johnson Jr., 74, died at 10:35 p.m. Aug. 31, 2009, in LifeCare Center, Rochester.

He was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Henry and Pearl Carson Johnson. On Feb. 5, 1983, he married Ethel Dotson, who survives.

He was a coal mine truck driver and attended Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, Silver Lake. He lived in Akron for two years, coming from Prestonsburg.

Also surviving are two stepsons, Dean (and spouse Geretta) Greene, Leesburg, Jim (and spouse Leslie) Greene, Bristol, Ill.; three step-grandchildren: Sossity (and spouse Don) Goble, Claypool; Jeremy (and spouse Aime) Greene, Leesburg; and Rachael Greene, Bristol, Ill.; five step-great-grandchildren: Kendra and Ashton Greene and Parker, Paxton and Bryson Greene; three sisters, Evelyn Gardner, Arizona, and Vivian and Goldie Tussey, both of Prestonsburg, Ky.; and a brother, George Johnson, Prestonsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mable McIntosh and Juanita Adams; and three brothers, Homer, Fred and Wayne Johnson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Magoffin County Funeral Home, Salyersville, Ky., with Brother Ellis Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Dotson Family Cemetery, Jack Arnett Road, Prestonsburg.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of local arrangements.
