July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

Analiese Helms and David Zoschnick will perform a joint benefit recital, accompanied by Judie Meulink, at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant View Bible Church, 2782 W. CR 200N, Warsaw.
The public is invited. These individuals will be performing a variety of duets and solo pieces.
Helms is a junior at Warsaw Community High School, playing violin with the high school orchestra as the concertmaster. She studies with Derek Reeves in Fort Wayne.
She auditioned and was selected to perform in the Indiana All-State Orchestra for the past two years.
Currently, she is a member of the Symphony of the Lakes and performed for three years with the Fort Wayne Youth Symphony on violin. She has competed in ISSMA solo and ensemble contests for the past five years, earning gold ratings at regional and state levels for flute, violin and viola.
In 2012, Helms won a junior division concerto competition and was the guest soloist with the Peru Community Orchestra. She has been selected as an Indiana Ambassador for the European Choral Tour in 2016. She participated in the Masterworks Festival in Winona Lake for two years.
Helms is active in the community by playing her instruments at local nursing homes and in her church. She has enjoyed showing llamas through 4-H, acting with the high school theater department, and singing is another passion.  She loves singing with the select chorale.
Zoschnick is a sophomore at WCHS and has been playing the oboe for four years. He performed with the Fort Wayne Youth Concert Orchestra in the 2013-2014 season, and currently is a member of the Fort Wayne Youth Symphony. He has performed with the Grace Wind Ensemble.
Last summer, Zoschnick toured throughout Europe with the Indiana Ambassadors of Music. In February, he placed third in the Symphony of the Lakes Young Artists Concerto Competition.
He studies with Diane Dickson in Fort Wayne.
He has competed with the WCHS swim team, is a member of the ski club, and enjoys hunting in his free time.
Both Zoschnick and Helms are pursuing musical endeavors this summer and are giving this joint concert as a way to raise funds for the tuition. Zoschnick plans to be part of the Masterworks Festival in Winona Lake, and Analiese plans to attend Benefic Chamber Music Camp at Ball State University as she has not had many opportunities to perform Chamber repertoire. She is still interested in Masterworks.
Donations will be accepted at the recital and refreshments will be served.[[In-content Ad]]
