WABASH – Helen Louise Meyer, 93, of rural Wabash, died at 6:40 p.m. Feb. 23, 2013, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Huntington County, to Conrad and Glennie Elsea Bechtold. Her mother died when she was 4 weeks old and her father had nine other children in his care. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Thomas E. and Ora  Garber Bechtold. On May 11, 1941, in Wabash County, she married Raymond C. Meyer, who died April 7, 2002.
She was a 1937 graduate of Chester High School.    She retired in 1980 from the billing department at General Tire, Wabash. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Wabash County, and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both in Wabash.
Surviving are three children: Kay L. Meyer and Roger L. Meyer, both of Wabash, and Ray Allen Meyer, Warsaw; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great- great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; and Rozella Bechtold and Madalyn Bechtold, both of North Manchester. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, a granddaughter,  four brothers and six sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Pastor Randell Webb officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
