BOURBON - Helen J. Benedict, 86, a resident of Mason Health Care of Warsaw, passed away at 5:37 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22.

She was born the daughter of Charles Yates and Grace Spencer on July 22, 1920 in Walnut Township (Marshall County). She had been a resident of the Argos and Bourbon area most of her life.

She liked to crochet, play cards and loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker.

Helen was joined in marriage on Feb. 6, 1944 to John Benedict who survives along with their children; Danny and Carolyn Benedict, Benny Benedict and Susan and Richard Craig, all of Bourbon. She was also blessed with grandchildren, Shawn and David Gargis and her great-grandchilren, Brittny, Brogan and Briley Gargis, all of Warsaw and a step-grandson, Kevin Ludwig of East Palestine, Ohio.

Helen was preceded in death by five brothers.

Graveside services to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Doug West officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasent Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.

No calling is planned.
