Helen Eloise Smith, 93, Warsaw, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29, 2015, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, following a short illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Warsaw, to James O. and Nellie Devenney Tuttle. On Oct. 31, 1942, in Paris, Texas, she married Keith H. Smith, who preceded her in death Oct. 25, 2008.
She graduated in 1940 from Larwill High School. She retired in 1984 from DePuy, Warsaw, in the shipping and receiving department after 22 years. She was formerly employed at Controls, North Manchester, and Whitley Products, Pierceton.
She was a lifetime Whitley and Kosciusko County area resident, and wintered with her husband for 22 years in Apache Junction, Ariz.
Survivors are: a daughter, Marcia (and spouse Steve) Randolph, Warsaw; three sons: Phil (and spouse Kim) Smith, Leesburg; Ron (and spouse Toni) Smith, Indianapolis; Stan (and partner Linda Last) Smith, Mesquite, Texas; four grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilynne Curtis, Warsaw. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Patrick Wiseman; two sisters, Marjorie Tuttle and Betty Burnworth; and three brothers, Maurice, Gordon and John Tuttle.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Chaplain Forrest Tabor officiating. Cremation will be at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, and burial is in Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
