Kathryn Ann Hawkins and Robert James Wood Jr. were married May 12, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church of Winona Lake by the Rev. Bob Smith. The bride is the daughter of Dan and Chris Hawkins, Lebanon; and the groom's parents are Edna and Robert Wood Sr., Warsaw.

Maid of honor was Elena Sanders, Indianapolis. Bridesmaids were Sarah Wood, Warsaw; Katie Kussro, Indianapolis; and Michelle Burgin, Kirklin. Flower girl was Tessa Jo Wood, Warsaw.

Best man was Doyle Wood, Warsaw. Groomsmen were David Hawkins, California; and Dustin Mayer, Elkhart.

The bride is a 2000 homeschool graduate and received her bachelor's degree in Urban International Ministry from Cincinnati Christian University in 2005.

The groom is a 1996 Warsaw Community High School graduate and received his bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from ITT in 1998. He also received a bachelor's degree in business information systems from Indiana Wesleyan Universitys in 2003. He currently is working toward a master's degree in business administration and is employed as a project specialist by Verizon in Fort Wayne.

A reception was held at the church, ending with the bride and groom leaving by horse and carriage.

After a wedding trip to Kauai, Hawaii, the couple reside in Elkhart.[[In-content Ad]]

On a night where the Warsaw football team was honored before the game, another Tiger team with high expectations going into the season made its 2024 debut. The Warsaw boys basketball team tipped the season off at the Tiger Den against Columbia City, and after battling for the better part of the game, the home side pulled away in the final minutes to win the opener 62-53.
