Misty Marie Hathaway and Scot Eugene Goon were married at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 16, 2006, at Dutchtown Brethren Church, with the Rev. Dan Herendeen officiating. The bride is the daughter of Ray and Jane Hathaway, Pierceton, and the groom's parents are Jon and Tina Goon, Warsaw.

Matron of honor was Penny Eash, Goshen. Bridesmaids were: Jamie Reiff, Warsaw; Candy Reiff, Denver, Colo.; Stacy Sluder, Baroda, Mich.; and Brittany Patty and Chelsea Patty, both of South Bend. Flower girls were Brianna Linnear, Denver, and Ella Mae Reiff, Warsaw.

Best man was Milton Sluder, Baroda. Groomsmen were Joel Goon, Ezra Gigous, Brad Goon and David Goon, all of Warsaw, and Brent Walton, New Philadelphia, Ohio. Ushers were Jeremy Hedington, Triston Reiff and Jerry Reiff, all of Warsaw, and J.D. Eash, Goshen. Ring bearer was Alyssa Patty, South Bend.

A reception was held at the Troy Presbyterian Family Life Center, Larwill.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Whitko High School.

The groom is a diesel technician with G&G Hauling and Excavating, Warsaw. He is a 2004 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and received his associate's degree in business and agricultural diesel technology in 2006 from the University of Northwestern Ohio, Lima, Ohio.

Following a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple are at home in Etna Green.

On a night where the Warsaw football team was honored before the game, another Tiger team with high expectations going into the season made its 2024 debut. The Warsaw boys basketball team tipped the season off at the Tiger Den against Columbia City, and after battling for the better part of the game, the home side pulled away in the final minutes to win the opener 62-53.
