KOKOMO – Harry Allen “Pee Wee” Johnson, 64, of Claypool, and formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 10:05 a.m. June 27, 2013, in his residence, after a brave fight with cancer.
He was born June 3, 1949, in Peru, to Charles William and Bernice Ellen Bowman Johnson. On July 3, 1982, in Tipton, he married Esther Lee Damewood, who survives.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1967 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Hohman Excavating, worked at Accurate Parts, Kokomo, and was a stay-at-home dad. He enjoyed spending time on Yellow Creek Lake and spending time with his two girls and grandchildren.
Also surviving are a daughter, Katherine Kiser (and spouse Robert) Kleinschnitz, West Lafayette; a daughter, Elizabeth Johnson (and Anthony Domenico), Chicago; two grandchildren, Zoe Ruth and Benjamin Charles Kleinschnitz; two brothers, Charles Martin (and spouse Danel) Johnson and Arthur Eric (and spouse Phyllis) Johnson, all of Kokomo; and a sister, Deborah Kay (and spouse Duane) Johnson, Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with Kenneth Damewood officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
