NORTH MANCHESTER - Harold W. Baker, 90, of North Manchester, died at 11:50 a.m. June 7, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Roann, to Lloyd F. and Fern Clingaman Baker. On May 9, 1941, he married Lucile Welch, who died April 7, 1986. On Nov. 19, 1992, he married Phyllis Westafer, who died July 3, 2006.

He graduated from Chili High School in 1935, and Manchester College in 1939. He taught high school mathematics at Twelve Mile and also Chester High School, North Manchester, for four years. He then worked in the Electro-Optical Products Division of ITT, Fort Wayne, for 38 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester, where he served as financial secretary, treasurer, adult superintendent, vice moderator, moderator and Sunday school teacher of the Builder's Class.

Surviving are a son, Frederick Baker, Red Wing, Minn.; two daughters, Sharon Baker, Angola, and Becky Baker, Lost Creek, Ky.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Brethren Church, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
