Harold Russell Brown, 77, Winona Lake, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Jan. 30, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Warsaw, to Harold V. and Doris L. Wilson Brown. On Feb. 4, 956, in Warsaw he married Harriet Davis, who survives in Winona Lake.
He entered service with the Warsaw Fire Department Oct. 1, 1962, and retired at the rank of captain Dec. 31, 1983, after having held various positions within the fire service. His hobbies included his love of restoring classic cars, coaching Little League Baseball for the Warsaw Little League at Boggs Field, coaching soccer at the City-County Athletic Complex and spending time with grandchildren.
Also surviving are four children: Sarita (and spouse Rex) Burnett, McKinney, Texas; Russell (and spouse Jackie) Brown, Pierceton; Alicia “Lisa” Eckert, Mentone; and Christine Brown, Warsaw; eight grandchildren: Brandt Cox, Brook Moore, Kirk and Kyle Burnett, J.R. and Erik Watters, Nicholas Boardman and Keegan Brown; and three great-grandchildren: Darren, Alivia and Zander Cox.
No services are planned.
Calling will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
