MILFORD - Harold Rusher, 80, Milford, passed away March 4, 2011, in Goshen General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Fordsville, Ky., to Robert and Bertha Crow Rusher. On Sept. 27, 1949, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Kendall, who survives.

He enjoyed working outside in the yard, cooking, playing golf and carpentry. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War before working as a machinist for LTV Steel Company. After his retirement from LTV, he worked for Purdue University, North West. He also was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church. He loved his family and cherished the times that they spent together.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; two daughters, Clarissa Lee Skorupa, Monroe, Ohio, and Mary "Dennise" (and spouse Dan) Deismer, Milford; three grandchildren: Mary Dannielle (and spouse Michael) Goodrich, Fort Wayne; Emily (and spouse Adam) Swihart, Elkhart; William Leismer, Milford; two sisters, Kathrin (and spouse Gene) Bowling, Owensborough, Ky., and Janet Embry, Whitesville, Ky.; and one brother, Jim Rusher, Hammond. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Milford United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rob Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.

Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
