MENTONE – Harold P. “Bud” Fivecoate, 92, of 8670 W. Ind. 25,  Mentone, died at 12:35 a.m. March 31, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born April 3, 1919, in Denver, Ind., to Ira and Maude Miller Fivecoate. On Jan. 4, 1949, in Peru, he married Carolyn Hunter, who survives.

He had been a farmer and a hatchery worker. He had worked for Manwarings for 25 years when he retired. He went to Gilead High School. He moved to the area in 1967 from Mexico, Ind. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Mentone. He enjoyed gardening and yard work where he mowed many lawns.

Also surviving are a son, James (and spouse Debra)  Fivecoate, Mentone; three grandchildren, Jamie Lynn, Travis and Joel; and a great-grandchild, Liam. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Kay Fivecoate,  who died Oct. 26, 1966, and 12 siblings.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Michael Wilhite officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Ind.

Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
