He was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Shanghai, China, to Orville William and Aileen B. Kenrick French. On June 23, 1951, he married Ruth Helen “Peaches” Endicott, who survives in Winona Lake.
He pastored several churches in Michigan, Kansas and California throughout his life, and most recently had been attending Community Bible Church of Warsaw. He also retired in 1991 from RR Donnelley & Sons Company, Warsaw, after 18 years of service.
He also leaves behind four sons: Dwight Gordon (and spouse Amy) French, San Jose, Calif.; Kent Alan (and spouse Evelyn) French, Tucson, Ariz.; John Travis (and spouse Jackie) French, Warsaw; Andrew Adoniram French, Winona Lake; three daughters: Susan Marguerite Aderman, Warsaw; Mary Maethorne (and spouse Bob) Trombadore, Virginia; Elizabeth Ann (and spouse Jim) Milliman, Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren; and his sister, Pauline M. McClain, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Grace Village Retirement Community, Grace Village Chapel, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, and officiated by the Rev. John French. A private family graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
