Harold J. VanCleve, 84, Warsaw, passed away at 6:15 p.m. July 15, 2015, in his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in North Liberty, Pa., to Hiram and Lois McCandless VanCleve.
He was a 1948 graduate of Wilkensburg (Pa.) High School. He entered the United States Army; served as an MP during the Korean War; and was honorably discharged May 18, 1961. He was a Warsaw resident since coming from Pennsylvania in 1949.
He was an adjuster with Auto Owners Insurance Company for 38 years, retiring in 1995. He attended Dutchtown Brethren Church and was a member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
Survivors are: two sisters, Ruth Griswold, Warsaw, and Lois Strum, Fredericksburg, Va.; a brother, Don VanCleve, Longwood, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois VanCleve, who died Aug. 21, 1991; his father, Hiram VanCleve, who died Jan. 6, 1972; and a sister, Dorothy VanCleve, who died March 1, 2010.
Services will be at noon Monday at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, with Pastor Jack Worth, of Dutchtown Brethren Church, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
