BOURBON – Harold E. Worsham, 96, Warsaw, passed away at 5:45 a.m. June 25, 2016, in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Columbia City.
He was born July 24, 1919, in Bourbon, to Alfred and Nellie Hall Worsham. On Sept. 2, 1939, he married Ruth G. Trowbridge, who passed away in November 2004.
He had been a resident of Bourbon, Etna Green and the past 30 years in Warsaw. He was a 1937 graduate of Bourbon High School. He served in the United States Army in 1943, and received an honorable medical discharge. He had worked at Coppes, Nappanee, then at ElCar Coach until 1964. He was most noted for his breeding, training and racing standard breed horses.
Surviving are his daughter, Lynn Vining, Warsaw; his son, Allen (and spouse Sharon), Goshen; three grandchildren: David (and spouse Kimberly) Vining, Etna Green; Kelly Worsham, Elkhart; and Kemilyn (and spouse Eric) Schreiber, LaPorte; and their children: Kyle, Megan and Scott LaPorte, two step-great-grandchildren, Tanner Manns and Tessa Manns; her companion, Chris Byrd; and step-great-great-grandson, Jase Byrd. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jeanne Ilene, in 1943; two brothers, Hoy and Everette; and a sister, Grace Price.
Burial will be in Summit Chapel Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.
