Hanger Planned At Bell Aircraft Museum

MENTONE - The Bell Aircraft Museum of Mentone, held a ground-breaking ceremony July 22 to begin the construction on a hangar that will house Bell-manufactured helicopters in the museum's collection. The 'copters are models used during the Korean and Vietnam War eras
The first phase of construction was completed in 1982 when the present building was finished.
The museum has sustained for many years through volunteerism and with membership and community support. A portion of a recent endowment will be used for the new building. The other portion will be kept to sustain the museum for the future and pay a museum curator.
Board members plan to add the history of Mentone and surrounding area to the musuem.
They are collecting items from former businesses and people as well as photographs that tell the story of local communities.
